Welcome: here's how OrbiTome works

OrbiTome starts from a simple idea: fewer messages, more moments together. Open the map, suggest something in three taps and see who's around. Here's everything you need to get going, with real screenshots.

First steps: signing up

All you need is your phone number: no passwords to remember, no endless forms. Enter your number, accept the Terms and you'll receive a verification code by SMS.

Type in the six digits and you're in. The number is there to verify the account, nothing else.

Find your friends

On first launch, OrbiTome offers to import your contacts and spot who's already on board. You pick who to select — one by one, or all at once.

One thing we're particular about: your address book stays on your phone and never gets uploaded to our servers.

Home: your live map

Home is a living map. The colors tell you at a glance what's going on nearby: purple for events happening right now, blue for what's coming up, red for people who've shown interest.

Up top there's the city search — handy for having a look somewhere else too — and the tag filter; the button at the bottom right snaps you back to where you are. Nothing going on nearby? Then be the one to get something started.

Create an event in 3 taps

Tap + and answer one question: “What are we doing?”. Pick an icon (coffee, pizza, sports, movies...), choose when — now, in an hour, tonight — and confirm.

Need a precise time or another day? The clock and calendar are one tap away.

đź’« Wish: put an idea out there

Not everything has to be settled upfront. Flick on “Wish” and throw the idea out there — “pizza tonight, anyone?” — without pinning anything down: your friends see it and, if it catches on, the event takes shape by itself.

It's the easiest way to find out who's up for it, and nobody feels put on the spot.

Invite and share

Before publishing, choose where (“Where” also accepts a place searched on the map), who to invite and which tag to use. Then tap the share button.

Friends not on OrbiTome yet? No problem: invite them with a link via WhatsApp, SMS or any other app.

Once shared, the event pops onto the map with its icon: anyone around can see it and join.

đź‘» Ghost Mode: guests only

Some plans are meant for a handful of people. With Ghost Mode on, the event shows up only for the friends you've invited — for everyone else it's simply not there.

The filtering happens on each person's own phone rather than on a server: a deliberate design choice, made with your privacy in mind.

My Stash: your memories

Every finished event lands in your personal stash: what, where and when, icon included. A little running record of the good times you've shared.

The “I'm here now” label marks your on-site check-in: when you arrive, the app can log it by itself, thanks to your location. Search a past event, relive it or delete it with a tap: the stash is yours and stays on your phone.

Profile, tags and permissions

From your Profile you manage the essentials: photo, name and bio, your tags, the in-app address book and app permissions.

Tags are groups of people (“football”, “colleagues”, “Rome-Amsterdam”...): create as many as you like and invite a whole group in one tap.

The Permissions section shows transparently what the app uses — contacts, location and notifications, each explained in plain words. And if something feels off, your Feedback is welcome: it takes 30 seconds. You'll also find the little extras here: the moon icon for dark mode, “Introduction” to replay the initial walkthrough whenever you like, Logout and, should you ever decide to say goodbye, account deletion.

Your data stays with you

OrbiTome works locally first: your events and contacts live in a database on your own device. Whenever you feel like it, make an encrypted backup and keep it wherever suits you — Google Drive, say.

Switching phones? “Restore data” puts everything back where it was.
